Terms of use

Draft for the owner. This text is a working draft, not yet the owner's terms of use; no one is asked to accept it. The owner reviews and replaces it before a version is published.

Who runs PubPhys

PubPhys is operated by the Joint Quantum Institute and the Physics Department, University of Maryland. To reach the people who run it, use the contact form.

Using PubPhys

Anyone may read PubPhys, free of charge. An account is personal: do not share it, and keep its password and its ORCID sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account and signed with your ORCID iD.

What you write

Signed records are permanent

A signed record is public and permanent: it stays in the public log, with your ORCID iD in it, even if your account is deleted or the record is withdrawn. Its text may be withheld from view for copyright or personal-data reasons; the fact that it was signed stays.

Removal

If something on PubPhys infringes your copyright or exposes your personal data, tell us through the contact form, saying what it is and where. Such removals never wait for other work on the site (Seed collection). Before removing content or deleting data on request, the admin checks that it is yours: for an account, from its confirmed address or by the account itself.

Conduct

No abuse of other people, no spam, no impersonation, no attempts to get around the limits, the screening or the security of the site. Report a comment that breaks these rules from the comment itself.

Suspension and deletion

The admin may suspend an account that breaks these terms (Accounts). You may delete your account, or ask the admin to delete it (deletion); signed records stay, as above.

No warranty

PubPhys is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Problems and results are the work of their authors; an editor's acceptance or a referee's recommendation is not a guarantee that a result is correct. To the extent the law allows, those who run PubPhys are not liable for any loss arising from its use or from its being unavailable.

Changes to these terms

Each version of these terms has a version name, shown on your account page once you accept it. When the terms change, the changes are listed on Changes, and you are asked to accept the new version before you next write anything; until you do, you can read but not write.

Privacy

What PubPhys stores and why: the privacy notice.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA.
